An auction is a process of buying and selling goods or services by offering them up for bid, taking bids, and then selling the item to the highest bidder. In economic theory, an auction may refer to any mechanism or set of trading rules for exchange. There are several variations on the basic auction form, including time limits, minimum or maximum limits on bid prices, and special rules for determining the winning bidder(s) and sale price(s). Participants in an auction may or may not know the identities or actions of other participants. Depending on the auction, bidders may participate in person or remotely through a variety of means, including telephone and the internet. The seller usually pays a commission to the auctioneer or auction company based on a percentage of the final sale price. From Wikipedia under the

My friend and I want to play a little fantasy game between us but we need help on how to organize an auction draft. Since we're just 2 we don't know how it could work. Asked by tommygarrett57 - Tue Mar 11 13:52:30 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you are doing an auction style draft, you really need more than 2 people. A straight draft style would be better. But if you insist on an auction, I always have everyone involved start with $500 and take turns bringing up players. I always make a rule that the person who brings up the player is required to put at least a dollar on the player if no one wants him and they must add the player to their roster. This way no one tries to bring up nobodies to fill spots on the other person's roster and get the good players for cheap because no one has a place for them. But with only two people, it would make things interesting... not sure it will really work. And both of you would have All-Star teams. I generally like to have a lot of… [cont.] Answered by London Hatchet - Tue Mar 11 14:41:37 2008 My home was lost to foreclosure via auction. How can I verfiy that it actually sold at the auction? Q. I believe that an investment company won the auction and then failed to close the deal within the specified time. They were trying to flip the house and I don't think they were able so they forefitted the bid deposit. The auction was on June 12 and there still are no recorded documents according to the county recorder's office. Any advice on how to get to the bottom of this. I have moved on, but I just want some closure as to how it all played out. Thanks. Asked by Partyboy - Wed Aug 26 04:02:40 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. You can call the county recorder's office or the clerk's office and ask them to tell you who currently owns your property, as well as any liens on the property right now. That would be the easiest way, since the county in which the property is located keeps all of the records affecting the property. If the foreclosure went through but there was a problem with the sale, they will be able to give you that information. But if you are right and there are still no documents that have been recorded to show a transfer of ownership, then the house may have to be auctioned again at a later date. If the high bidder could not pay, the house may just go back to sheriff sale. In the meantime, you might still be the owner of the property, just as you… [cont.] Answered by foreclosurefish_com - Wed Aug 26 12:51:35 2009 How much will I save by buying from an insurance auction in relation to dealership prices?
